Conceicao steps down from PAOK post

PAOK FC have confirmed Portuguese technical director Sergio Conceicao has cut his ties with the club, just a few weeks after Fernando Santos quit as manager of the club. The announcement was made by the public by the club following a meeting at the club’s headquarters with President Thodoris Zagorakis and Vice-president Zisis Vryzas in attendance. A press release on the club’s official website confirmed Conceicao’s resignation, with the club acknowledge the ex-Portugal international’s exit as well as his contributions to the club as a player and more recently as member of the club’s technical team. Initial reports from Greece have linked the monumental collapse of Jorge Costa’s move to Thessaloniki as the next manager of PAOK was symbolic in Conceicao’s decision to cut ties with the Dikefale tou Vorra. Reports from Portugal, however, have already linked Conceicao with a potential spot with the Portuguese National Team following this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Former colleague Santos has already been linked with the Portugal job.
