AEK Athens Target Hull City Star Geovanni – Report

The midfielder is wanted by the Greek side…
Hull City midfielder Geovanni (photo) looks set to leave the KC Stadium after holding talks with Greek side AEK Athens.
The Brazilian signed for Hull on a free transfer following his release from Manchester City at the end of the 2008 season.
The 30-year-old scored some memorable goals for the Tigers in their debut Premier League season but the former Barcelona player has failed to recreate that form this campaign.
With Hull Championship bound and struggling financially, the club look set to allow Geovanni to leave in order to cut his reported 25,000-a-week salary from their wage bill.
It is thought that the player’s representatives have already held talks with AEK over a possible move to Greece according to the Hull Daily Mail.
A fee of around £1 million had initially been rumored although with only one year remaining on his current contract, Geovanni maybe available on a free transfer.
If the Brazilian does leave the KC Stadium he will become the third player to leave East Yorkshire following the departure of Bernard Mendy and Dean Marney’s transfer to Burnley.
