Cruel Measures that Cripple All Employees

Collective redundancies are moving up to 5% every month, total costs of claims are cut to half and all young people are recruited with only getting 80% of the basic salary.
The presidential decree that Minister of Labor, A. Loverdos, publicized, overturns every protection a worker enjoyed against the arbitrariness of an employer.
This drastic cut in claims makes dismissals cheap. From now on, the employer may just notify an employ, who lets say is working for him 10 years, just a month before his dismissal, without given a reason and pay him 2,5 month’s worth of salary. Furthermore, the employer is not obliged any more to give the sum of 6 moths salary after he notifies the dismissal but will just pay for 2 months.
Dismissals remain free and arbitrary, without limitation, businesses that employ up to 20 people.
Making it easy for employers to go forwarded with mass redundancies, when at this point of time unemployment is on the rise and we are in the middle of a recession abandons all the weight to the workers.
They are the one who will be found unemployed without sharing or finding and alternative proposals. And so we will deepen the crisis. What is needed are measures to stimulate demand and strengthen the disposable income, in order to, stabilize the economy and have a rapid recovery.
Along with the easy and cheap redundancies, employers acquire new and cheap staff. With salary’s bellower the basic wage of 740 Euros. Young people up to 21 years old will receive 80% of the basic wage (595) and those who are up to 25 years old … enjoy the 85%. The Government, with a simple Presidential Decree, amends the collective agreements.
