Greece Enters the European Court for the Second Time

For the second time, the European Commission is calling Greece to face the European court, under the threat of a fine.
They are accusing Greek authorities spending taxpayer’s money for the purchase of medical equipment.
After having filed complaints in 2003, Greece was sentenced in 2009 for violating Community rules on public procurement. Greece did not comply and in accordance with the Committee, similar procedures have continued taking place, leaving other suppliers of medical equipment out, whom among those are companies approved by the European Union.
Greece must comply within these two months, otherwise Greece will be prosecuted under new facts in the European Court and be imposed a far more austere fine.
