Public Opinion Against Government Measures

Greek Citizens are found divided in the face of government regulations on the insurance and labour Bill, according to the latest survey conducted by Kappa research-group published today in “to Vima” newspaper.
Public opinion does not seem to agree to the changes, just one week before the adoption of the new insurance bill. 35.2% of respondents consider that the changes in the Insurance bill are necessary, but unjust ‘ whilst 14,2% thinks they are ‘ necessary and must be done”.
29,6% ask for the immediate withdrawal of the draft, whilst 19% of those who participated in the investigation characterize the Bill as ‘ disastrous ‘.
Public Opinion, is also, opposite towards the forwarding changes in employment relationships. 70,4% do not consider it necessary to reduce the cost of redundancies, and an even higher percentage (82,9%) are against the liberalization of redundancies.
Interesting is the response related to the political scene. Almost half (49%) estimate that this political system may not be able to get the country out of the crisis, whilst the parties are at the rockbottom of their popularity. It is a first that PASOK and N.D. are no higher than 39% in
vote.
However, an overwhelming majority of respondents (82,9%) are against the possibility of early national elections, describing it as “injurious and problematic ‘, whilst only 13,2% consider elections as useful and necessary.
