The General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad organization of a program to host children, aged 8-12, of expatriate Greeks in camps, for the months July and August 2010 is not possible this year. That’s because of the high cost of the tickets and the severe financial limitations.
That appears in an announcement in the website of the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad. This organization is realized every year since 1981. The only time that the organization wasn’t realized, for safety reason, it was the year of the Olympic Games, 2004.
Every year about 700 children are hosted in the camps of GSHA, in Malessina, Fthiotida and Epanomi, Thessaloniki.
The announcement concludes:
“We are intent on our national goal to strengthen the relations with the Greeks of Diaspora, we decided that the children that were interested in this year’s program will participate in the next year’s program”.
No Camping Filoxenia for the children of Diaspora this year
