PPC’s umbrella union, GENOP DEH has threatened to strike and cause a blackout across the country in case the Greek government sells part of the utility’s capacity.
The European Commission told Greece to sell 40% of the power company’s capacity as a condition of the massive bailout package given to the debt chocked country.
“If they try something like this, there will be war,” trade unionists are quoted as saying by semi public radio broadcaster Athina 9.84.
