Cretan Dancers Compete for The Guiness Book of World Records as Longest Dance

Tomorrow the entire island of Crete will dance to its unique rhythms.  The human chain of Greek dancers will form on the side of the road from Hania to Lasithi, which stretches for 200 km.  This will be conducted in order to break the world record for the longest dance. The dancers are aiming for a place in The Guinness Book of World Records.
It will start with a slow dance with 250,000 + dancers, followed by professional Cretan dancers and “Friends of Crete” dancers.  The event is organized through local, national, and worldwide dance groups from New Zealand to Alaska, Canada, Greenland to Antarctica.
During the event “Planet Crete” will offer messages of fellowship, love and togetherness for the Earth’s people by inviting them to dance along and become one.
There are various benefits of this event including worldwide promotion of Crete and Greece, the increase of Greek tourism, as well as the contribution of Crete in the coming together and fellowship of the Earth’s people.
