Second division football player Panayiotis Bahramis was killed on Saturday after being hit by a speedboat. He was underwater fishing in Kyparissia, in the western area of the Peloponnese.
Bahramis suffered fatal injuries in the incident and died almost immediately. One person has been arrested.
The 34 year old athlete was an attacking midfielder with Veria in the B Ethniki. He has also played for Apollon Kalamarias, Iraklis and Larissa during his career. He represented Greece at the U21 level.
