Slovak aircraft caught fire in Kos International Airport, Greece

At 9:00 a.m today morning, a slovak aircraft landed in Kos International Airport “Hippocrates” and a few minutes before the disembarkation of the 170 passengers, it caught engine fire. The Aviation and Handling Services, the local Police Department together with the fire Department, arrived immediately and tried to extinguish the fire. According to the airport official information, the crew members activated the inflatable slides and all passengers disembarked within a few minutes. Reportedly, no one was hurt and the fire was extinguished quickly.
The slovak aircraft departed from Verona, Italy with the destination of Kos island, South Sporades. The local attorney’s office is further investigating at the moment.
