The Greek Prime Minister, Mr. George Papandreou, chaired today a wide meeting ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair, that opens on Saturday evening with the traditional economic policy address by the premier.
Many other ministers attended the meeting as well, such as the Finance Minister, Mr. George Papakonstantinou and the Minister of Foreign affairs, Mr. Droutsas as well as the Tourism and Culture Minister, Mr. Geroulanos. The Governmental spokesman, replied to press questions immediately after the meeting and noted that the it was part of the government’s steps and underlined that the group will be meeting regularly depending on the subjects on the agenda.
To the question on whether the Premier is thinking of running for UN secretary general next year Mr. Petalotis answered ” We have so much work to do, as the Greek Government, and all that talk and speculation does not help. Not at all” The new Cabinet will hold its first meeting on Friday.
