Today the first Greek Paediatric Oncology Hospital was inaugurated in Athens, Greece.
The hospital is located in central Athens in the region of Goudi. It is inaugurated after 19 years of donations raised in the ambitious project of the “Elpida” Association and Friends of Children with Cancer. The President of the Assocciation, Marianna Vardinogianni, who is also an UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, was really moved as according to her declarations, this was a “life ” project for her. The inauguration was also attended by Karolos Papoulias, the President of the Republic. It is underlined that this consists the first fully equipped oncology Hospital in Greece that gives hope to numerous children suffering from cancer.
