Kosmidis Wins Gold Medal at World Gymnastics Championships! (video)

Greece’s Eleftherios Kosmidis upset Japan’s all-around champion Kohei Uchimura on Saturday when he claimed gold in the men’s floor routine at the World Gymnastics Championships.
The 19-year-oldĀ Athenian held his nerve despite competing in his first floor finals at the Worlds to seal the gold by a narrow 0.177-point margin, surprising Uchimura.
Kosmidis scored 15.700 points with Uchimura taking silver with 15.533 points.Ā Ā Daniel Purvis gave Britain their first men’s medal on the floor since 1994 withĀ a bronze at 15.366 points.
In another competition, Krisztian Berki of Hungary won gold on the men’s pommel horse at the World Gymnastics Championships on Saturday.
