Greek Finance Minister Rules Out Debt Restructuring

Greece is not mulling restructuring its debt while the regional elections that took place on Sunday proved the government has the support it needs to go through with its fiscal reform, the Finance Minister said according to Reuters.
“We have said very clearly there is no issue of debt restructuring on the table,” Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou told reporters following a speech in London.
“The election yesterday showed that we continue to have a clear mandate for reform,” Papaconstantinou said.
He noted that the widening GGB/bund spreads reflected concerns about the euro zone periphery in general, pointing out that Greece is protected from market volatility so long as it sticks to the IMF/EU΄s 110 billion euro rescue deal.
