The production company at Mega Channel who is working on the series “The Island” is astonished by the recognition it is receiving from its audience for the best selling series. Before the series began, due to difficult economic times and not knowing whether it would be taken well by the public, extra pressure was put on director Theodore Papadoulaki. He was requested to limit the episode number and length. He was forced to cutout a lot of good material. Now that the series has started and its recognition is beyond anything that Mega had imagined they are thinking of a different plan.
Originally they were to produce only 26 episodes with each episode at 45 minutes duration. Due to the huge success of the series there will now be more that 26 episodes. Now Mega is planning after the completion of the series episodes, to have a few episodes with backstage scenes and scenes from the parts that were cut out of production.
The filming was to be completed in December but are now estimated to be finished by January 18th.
