Attack Against Eleni Foureira

Eleni Foureira (participant in the 2010 Greek national final along with Manos Pyrovolakis) is receiveing a personal attack by the Greek media. With both parents been Greek (from Ioannina and Athens) her descent is from Mexico. This is what she told to STAR Channel’s Axizei na to Zeis with Tatiana Stefanidou.
There are many though who claim that she is descent from Albania. Those rumors also claim that recently Eleni Foureira asked from the Greek authorities to receive the Greek citizenship. There is no confirmation or denial of the info above.
Eleni Foureira responded that she is not interested to such stories and that she is so busy with her projects having no time even to laugh with them. Why this story is breaking out now? Because two days ago ERT confirmed Eurovision 2011 participation and the broadcaster already approached Universal record label and discussed the name of Eleni for the 2011 Greek national final.

    She is Albanian, in fact she is Greek Minority from Albania, but even the Greek Minorities in Albania are scared of proper Greece, imagine the Albanians. Grow up people.

    I’m am shocked at the stories the Greek public is obsessed with, similar to this one concerning an artists’ origin. No wonder there are so many Europeans immigrants in the US, escaping this backward mentality of Southeast Europe. European nations need to mature and embrace diversity…this debate is surreal and shows the lack of civility among the member sof the EU. The artists who want to make it should come to the United States, they are always welcome here, regardles sof whether the color the Greeks have :)

    She is ALBANIAN, not a minority, but says so to (hopefully) be accepted in Greece. Her mom may be a Vlach but her dad is 100% Albanian. Vlachs are Romanian /Dacian so not Greek.

    I feel pity for her coz a person who denies his own Origine seems to be loosing his path! Being Albanian means being part of a population with a big heart and with a bright history!! Such a shame for the ones dont know it.
