Aris joined PAOK in the last 32 of the Europa League on Thursday after beating Rosenborg 2-0 at the Kleanthis Vikelidis stadium in Thessaloniki, to leave the Norwegians and cup holders Atletico Madrid out of the competition.
Goals by Danijel Cesarec and Ricardo Faty during injury time of each half allowed Aris to score a precious victory that saw the club qualify from the group stage of any European competition for the first time in their history.
With the temperature at freezing point in Thessaloniki, Aris entered the game determined to dominate play, boosted by their 15,000 fans who filled every possible spot at the stands.
Aris finished second in their group with 10 points from six games, behind Leverkusen, who drew 1-1 with Atletico.
