Greek Revolution of 1921 Fighter's Manuscript Auctioned

This manuscript of the Greek fighter Christoforos Perrevos was sold for 29.500 euros. Perrevos was one of the greatest fighters during the Greek Revolution of 1921. This manuscript is one of the most important documents of modern history.  It is an invaluable source of information for the organisation of the residents of Souli, in western Greece, during the heroic battle against Ali Pasas.
Perrevos was the only one who was not executed.  He managed to convey the details of his torture and later on wrote his biography. During the same auction, numerous other manuscripts were also sold at high prices.  A Kavafis book of poems sold for 2.242 euros.
