Astronomy School Set to Open in Volos

A new astronomy school is set to open in Volos by the Astronomy and Space Group and with the assistance of the University of  Thessaly. The astronomical concepts to be taught will be at the Junior High School level so they can be understood by all students. The lessons will take place at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly every Saturday, between 5-7 p.m. The registration and start date of the course will be on Saturday, January 15th, 2011. The courses will last 3 months and will be referring to our planetary system: the sun, planets, satellites of planets, comets, asteroids, meteors, etc. Well-known scientists and amateur astronomers who have emerged in the 20-year experience of the Group will be teaching there. The students will only be paying a small fee to deal with operational costs.
