Greeks Deny to Pay "Illegal" Tolls; Take Over Highways

Activists angry at rising charges for highway tolls, have occupied 19 toll stations across Greece for two hours from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m..  Potesters raised the toll bars and let vehicles pass through without paying.
Tollbooths open today, Sunday, all the way from Tripolis (Peloponnese) to Thessaloniki, (North Greece) as a nationwide civil disobedience movement against the high prices in toll fees will lift the bars and let motorists drive through without paying.
With sloagans such as: “They’re afraid of us, not we of them” and “We don’t pay for their economic crisis”, organisation committees are calling all motorists in Greece to resist the high toll prices set by the constructors.  They state they are ready for the struggle in courts about the legality of  toll charges.
