Greek Poet Iakovos Kambanelis Passes at 89-Years-Old

Greek poet, playwright, lyricist, and novelist Iakovos Kambanelis died on Saturday morning at the age of 89. Born on December 2nd, 1922 on the island of Naxos, Kambanelis was one of the most popular Greek artists. Among his most popular theatrical plays was “Choros Pano sta Stachya”, “A Large Circus”, and “Neighborhoood of Angels”. He also wrote several scenarios on cinematographic films including: “Stella”, directed by Kakogiannis and “O Drakos” (The Dragon), directed by Koundouros.
