Loukanikos (sausage) the Athenian, is a stray dog who is a popular pal of Greek protesters, and is starring in the world’s media at the moment. He is always at the front-line, unafraid of tear gas, and gunfire being thrown at demonstrators in the Greek streets and seems to be enjoying himself being by the protesters’ side.
Indeed, the protesters have adopted the protesting canine and never forget to feed, stroke or pat him on the head. He has recently begun to bring along some of his four-legged friends, who have also joined the demonstrations.
Loukanikos (or Louk) has numerous followers on Twitter and even has his own Facebook page, while international media is covering his every move.
