WWF Organizes Holidays & Volunteerism in 4 Greek Locations

This summer, you won’t pack just your bathing suit and hat in your holiday baggage-bring along your ”eco-mood”, too! If you are over 18 and love nature, here is an opportunity for you to experience something totally different. The WWF has organized exciting vacations combining volunteer work in four different destinations.
Crete, Zakynthos, Kerkini and Zagori! Four ”ecological diamonds” in Greece await volunteers to offer their valuable services in the summer, and join WWF Hellas’ volunteer programs. Volunteers will have the opportunity to be initiated into the secrets of the environment and the locals, while getting acquainted with the work of the organization.
The daily schedule includes, apart from the morning work, discussions and tours with the scientific partners of WWF Greece, tours in the surrounding areas and participation in local cultural events. Each program is open to people over the age of eighteen, and the cost of participation amounts to one hundred and five euros (eighty euros for supporters of  WWF Hellas). This will cover accommodation, food, private insurance, and tours in the region. The cost of the Vovousa program is fifty euros, as it will be shorter (one week).
Among other activities, volunteers will be asked to clean beaches and forests, take care of animals and birds, be on the look out for fires, organize environmental activities and inform and help passers-by where needed.
