Number of building permits decreased by 43.9% in March 2011, said Hellenic Statistical Authority in a report.
According to provisional data published by ELSTAT, in March 2011 the total Building Activity (private-public), in the whole country – which is calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits – amounted to 2,747. This figure corresponds to 471.9 thousand m2 of surface and 1,740.2 thousand m3 of volume, reflecting respectively a 43.9% decrease in the number of building permits, a 44.5% decrease in surface and a 40.4% decrease in volume, compared to the same month of 2010.
