Visitors Prefer Archaelogical Sites Over Museums

A decrease of 26.5% in the number of museum visitors in the country and 27.9% in their revenues, was observed in March 2011 compared to last March, announced the Greek Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). In the first quarter of this year, a decrease of 24.3% was observed in visitors and a decrease of 26.8% in revenues.
On the other hand, an increase of 12.4% in the number of visitors in the archaeological sites was observed in March 2011 and an increase of revenues by 16.2% compared to last March. In the first quarter, an increase of 1.9% in the number of visitors and 4.2% in revenues were also observed.
