Accidents at Work Reduced by 8.2% in 2011

According to the Greek Technical and Sanitary Labour Inspectorate statistics, accidents at work were reduced by 8.2% the first five months of 2011, in comparison to 2010.

The inspectors went on to a further analysis, finding the causes of 2.084 incidents and arriving at the conclusion that 26 were fatal.

Furthermore, there has been 10.061 controls over the safety and the security of work conditions where the work law is applied. In the end, there was 1.080 cases of fines (339 lawsuits, 380 financial penalties of the amount of €1.030.805 and 361 enterprises faced closure).
