A fire broke early this afternoon in Ilias!
After two hours of fighting with the flames, the nine firemen finally attained control of the fire. Four vehicles and two air-crafts were used for this effort.
Another fire broke out a few hours ago in Zante, in the S. Nicolaos forest. The fire is being fought and 10 firemen were sent to contain it, accompanied by five vehicles and a helicopter.
Authorities warned citizens to be really careful, while the heat wave is really dangerous and can promote fires. Arsonists lurk to hit and exploit any possible weather condition, which could be on their side. Authorities are on alert.
