The liberation of gambling makes the privatization of companies more attractive. The state participates in this initiative via OPAP and Horse Racing Organization in Greece.
According to data, 35,000 slot machines are going to enter the market and 16,500 of them will be exploited by the two organizations, mentioned above.
Every ten years, the exploitation permit will be renewed. The owners of the permits have to be companies associated to each other as to avoid monopoly.
Every player should pay from 0,10 to 2 euro. The ability of adjusting the amount of money will be granted.
Concerning internet gambling, a new law is going to be applied. 15 to 50 permits are going to be given to buyers and will be renewed after five years. The owners will have the chance to renew their permit after applying for it one year ahead. The same conditions but different prices will be held.
To participate in the invitation as to obtain such a permit you have to have a capital company with a €200.000 and €100.000 guarantee.
The state will take 30% of the profits in internet gambling and slot machines. An extra tax of 10% will be given to the state by the owners of the companies.
TV and radio shows can have gambling games as well, if the National Broadcasting Council consents.
