A mysterious case concerning the death of a new born in a bathroom in Nafpaktos has recently occurred. The new born was transferred to the General University Hospital of Patras, where the doctors ascertained its death.
The police department of the regions Achaia and Aitoloakarnania have already started interrogations to find out the conditions under which the baby was born and what followed its death. The minor mother of the baby had recently arrived from Northern Epirus and was staying with relatives in Nafpaktos.
The girl had been in the bathroom for two hours and as her relatives became concerned they opened the door to find her covered in blood with a dead baby in her arms. The girl said she had not realized that she was pregnant and that the baby was born dead. Her relatives immediately called an ambulance to transfer them to the hospital where they officially confirmed the baby’s death.
