The procedures for the building of the fence on the borders of Evros are in the last stage and, as sources of the Department of Citizen Protection say, “If all goes ahead as planned, building of the project will start in mid-autumn”. The fence will be constructed even though some people are against the project and are trying to create false impressions about it. ”
Although the construction was planned to start a lot earlier, there have been some delays and many problems generated, most notably regarding the Greek bureaucracy and the time needed to get the construction permit for the project. The designers of the Katehaki bridge, initially addressed the Ministry of National Defense and asked the relevant technical departments of the army to undertake the study, which reported that they have no similar technical skills.
