Gudjohnsen Comes to Athens on Monday

Eidur Gudjohnsen is arriving in Athens on Monday evening at 7 p.m. to sign a two-year contract, according to reports in the Greek media.
The former Chelsea and Barcelona star reportedly agreed a deal with the Greek Cup winners in the early hours of Sunday in Iceland after repeated meetings with AEK officials headed by technical director Arnar Gretarsson.
He therefore decided to reject the offer that West Ham United had made him, having also passed a medical test with the English Championship club, and opted instead for the Athens-based Europa League challengers.
Gudjohnsen reportedly had a telephone conversation with AEK president Stavros Adamidis on Sunday, telling him how eager he was to begin his career at AEK.
AEK fans are already preparing a huge reception for the Iceland striker at the Athens International Airport.
Reports suggest that Gudjohnsen will get an annual salary of 650,000 euros, not including bonuses.
