A different strike is being planned in Chalikidiki for August 20th. For the first time, bikers and hikers will join forces to protest against the difficult infrastructure they deal with every day. A demonstration will be held, starting from New Roda and moving to the borders of Mount Athos, in an attempt to voice their opposition to government ignorance of the biking and hiking needs.
Bikers and hikers will bike and hike a distance of 12 km. Anyone wishing to participate is welcome and will be able to rent a bike for the protest.
This is a joint initiative of the Citizens’ Association Preserving Natural and Cultural Heritage of Mount Athos, the Association for Pedestrians’ Rights, Cyclists from Salonika and Multicolored Cyclists.
