Rights of New Fathers

Legally, men have the right to ask for a paid paternity leave, and can demand additional compensation if it is not permitted.
According to an article of the Greek newspaper “Ethnos”, the court recognized the right of a man who works at the public sector, to receive a compensation of 10.332 euros plus five years interest because his office refused to give him a paternity leave of nine months.
This decision complies with the Hellenic and EU constitution regarding the equality of the two sexes.
