Number of Tourists in Cyprus Has Risen

According to the Cypriot Organization of Tourism, the rate of arrivals in Cyprus during summer has increased by 17% and it is estimated that the rate will be similar in August.
The number of tourists from Russia rose impressively by 62% and the number of British tourists by 100%. During the first seven months of the year, 1.3 million tourists arrived in Cyprus, 12.6% more than last year.
During the first half of the year 2011, tourism revenues increased by 17%, reaching the 677 million euro. These increases are very good news for the Cypriot economy, which has been facing major economic problems during this period.
