Turkey Gives 400 Million Euros to Northern Cyprus in 2010

According to an article in the Athens News Agency, the Turkish Cypriot press published a statement claiming that, in 2010, Turkey gave 851 million Turkish pounds, almost 400 million euros, to the regime in Northern Cyprus, covering 32% of the budget of the regime. Around 82.2% of the funds for the budget was spent on salaries and pensions, leaving not enough funds for investments.
In the beginning of September, President of the Turkish Parliament Cemil Cicek and Minister Without Portfolio Besir Atalay, who is responsible for Cypriot affairs, plan to visit the Occupied Territories of Cyprus.
