Talking today on NET, Mr. Beglitis said that the country’s professional army system is currently facing serious problems and shortages, both in manpower and financial sources, due to the bad economic situation.
However, he avoided stepping into any further details by saying that accurate statements will be made after the relevant research of the Ministry is concluded.
“We will re-examine all criteria, so social justice be done. Children will go to university but they will also serve their country”, claimed Mr. Beglitis.
When asked about the scenarios wanting Greece to exit the Eurozone, Mr. Beglitis called it a national disaster and underlined the fact that there are powers within the EU that are constantly pushing the weaker countries of the South into making such a decision.
The Minister also referred to the structural and strategic problems the EU has to face, which are the main reason why “the Union is not able to withstand the pressure of the markets” continuing that “there are powers that want to impose their own strategies in all Member-States”.
