After the revelation of famous television presenter, Eleni Menegaki getting an allowance for having many children, the news continue with the wife of the Vice President of the Greek Government, Mrs. Christina Christofaki getting a similar allowance for her three children.
According to a document published by “Proto Thema”, Mrs. Christofaki, who has also run for Mayor of Saronikos, seems to have collected for 2010 the total amount of 2.145 Euros from an OGA allowance.
Although, according to law, Mrs. Christofaki deserves this allowance, the public opinion is shocked by the fact that the State does not care that people of no real need are getting such allowances while the lower and middle classes are falling apart as they are to pay all new taxes imposed by the Finance Ministry.
Political sources claim that MP Pagkalos’ wife has been granting this money to a welfare facility, which is now to be proved.
Anyhow, Mr. Pagkalos’ explanations are expected with great interest given the current bad financial circumstances.
