Tourism and technology will be the discussion topics during the event celebrating the establishment of the International Federation for IT in Travel and Tourism Greece (IFITT) which is part of the ΙFITT global community (www.ifitt.org).
The event takes place on Sunday the 25th of September under the main title “Information Technology & Tourism Competitiveness”. The Greek federation was founded July 2011 and this will be its first official presentation, explaining its goals and activities.
One of the speakers will be Professor D. Bouchalis, President of the IFITT, who will elaborate on research developments and the industrial tendencies of global tourism.
Mr. Aivalis, Professor from the TEI of Crete will be presenting the workings of a WEB ANALYTICS application, while Mr. Mark Leach, Sales Manager and spokesperson of TripAdvisor.com will talk on the best e-Marketing practices for hotels and travel destinations.
Moreover, Mr. Phillip Brinkmann, CEO of Travelplanet24.com will analyze the ways in which technology affects on-line travel agencies (OTA) and how important this impact can be for tourism.
The conference appeals to destination experts, hotel-owners, OTAs, local bodies, professionals and students of the field.
