The expansion of the euro zone΄s sovereign debt fund won΄t allow a further restructuring of Greek debt, a European Commission spokesman said Monday.
There are mounting concerns that Greece will need a drastic restructuring of its debt, beyond what the euro zone agreed at its July 21 summit, but commission spokesman Amadeu Altafaj Tardio said that possibility wasn΄t being considered.
Altafaj Tardio also said finance ministers won΄t decide at their meeting in Luxembourg starting Oct. 3 whether to give Greece the sixth payment of the EUR110 billion rescue package agreed in May 2010.
