Greek PM George Papandreou said that unfortunately international community and the EU appeared very slow and divided in their reaction, in a message sent to the meeting of the Socialist International in New York.
The word “unfortunately” confirms information that indicates unpleasant developments regarding the haircut of Greek debt and its consequences within the country.
In critical tone, Prime Minister added that the settlement of Greek debt is not sufficient to address the broader consequences and the real causes of the financial crisis in Europe. Thus, he asked for “tool”, such as the Eurobond or the financial transaction tax.
