Events in Crete in Honour of Papadiamantis

A commemoration event will be held in Chania, Crete on the 12th of October, 2011 at 7:00 p.m., dedicated to Alexandros Papadiamantis’ work. The Municipal Library of Chania in collaboration with the High School of Chania organizes this event in occasion of the 100 years since the writer passed away.
Papadiamantis was one of the most important Greek writers of the early 20th century and is regarded as the “Apostle of Modern Hellenism”.
The events’ attendees will include among others Eudokia Kakatsaki-Skordala, who is going to read for the audience a short story of Papadiamantis, titled “Under the Royal Oak”.
