After the unanimous decision of Athens Attorney General and Public Investigator, 5 of the 6 members of the Kalashnikov gang active in Athens for the past few months have been sentenced to detention until their day of trial has been decided. Among the young robbers sentenced to detention was an underage Albanian too, whose family strongly opposed the judicial decision.
The young Albanian will be held at the Special Center for Youth Rehabilitation in Volos. The young girl (15), accused of knowing about the criminal action of the gang, was set free because no evidence emerged proving she took part in the robberies.
The alleged leader of the gang has admitted taking part in 6 of the total 15 robberies but denied being the head of the group. He additionally, denied accusations of him raping and sexually harassing 2 of the robberies’ victims.
