Thousands of people and many hotel owners in Greece have fallen in the trap of fake booking through the internet over the past few months.
Although the booking and crediting of clients’ credit cards was successfully completed, after their arrival in Greece the guests were met with an unpleasant surprise…they had been cheated.
The Electronic Crime Squad in Greece has recently solved this case of fraud but its extent remains so far unknown. According to the ECS’s investigations in cooperation with Interpol and Europol, at least 4 people have repeatedly used the same number of deceptive hotel booking sites.
The sites that were used are the following: -www.newbookingcentrals.com -www.mybookingcentrals.com -www.bookmeanhotels.com -www.yourhotelwbook.com
