Greek Μagician Mario Lessini Passes Away

One of the first Greek magicians Mr. Marios Leoussis, artistically known as Mario Lessini, passed away at the age of 85. His funeral service will take place on November 2, at 15:30 in the afternoon at the Zografou Cemetery, Athens.
His magician co-partner and member of the Academy of Magicians Mr. Kristofer spoke very admirably about the deceased Lessini to the ANA-MPA news agency. “Lessini took magic on a different level than public events, fetes and open-air bazaars. He revitalized it. He used to wear a bow tie and a suit. He was one of the first magicians working with doves and playing cards in Greece. He paved the way for us younger. Lessini had worked after the war in many cabarets and theatres of the capital. He had also worked with the then renowned artistic group “Mandra tou Attik”, he had performed in the Pedion tou Areos and made several tours abroad. He actually lived the good old times of ‘magic’ and was always present at parties of the time. He still worked as an amateur at some parties”.
For Lessini magic had been a career, which not only helped him make ends meet but provided him with extra money as well, as he had personally admitted in one of his past interviews to the Academy of Magicians’ newspaper.
