Greek Executives To Meet With Troika Technical Teams On Monday

Meetings between Greek government officials and Troika mid-level units have been scheduled on next Monday, focusing on the commitments related to the sixth instalment.
The exact date of senior officials’ arrival is still unknown, while the Greek government seeks to finalize pending issues.
However, outstanding  issues would remain, and the question is whether the Troika would give extra time.
• Privatisations: the transfer of ownership of all property rights to the fund for the development of public property has been signed, as provided by the medium-term plan.
However, the government has also committed to announce all privatisation advisors of the privatisation program in 2011-12, and tenders are still ongoing.
• Labour reserve: the notice to public organisations solves partially the problem. Greece committed to notify reservists with letters before the release of the sixth instalment.
• Closing-mergers-shrinkage in public utilities and organisations: the law has not been applied as requested by the Troika.
• Budget: Greece should table all necessary measures to reduce deficit, as provided by the MoU, and convince that the situation in revenue will reverse. The gap reaches €1 billion, compared with the October target, and €4.5 billion
• Arrears amount to €6.5 billion and the government has to demonstrate that there would be ways of settlement.
