Rise in Patients Visiting "Doctors of the World" Clinic in Thessaloniki

NGO Medecins du Monde (Doctors of the World) clinic in Thessaloniki reported a sudden rise in patients seeking free medical advice and assistance since September.
According to the head of the branch, Sofia Garane, who spoke to Skai television, the Doctors of the World clinic in Thessaloniki is currently offering its services to almost 1,000 patients per month. The stunning fact is that many of these patients do not belong to vulnerable social groups.
This rise in numbers is attributed to the rising unemployment rates and the slashing of benefits, said Mrs. Garane, who also appealed for donations in medicines, non-perishable food items, baby food and clothes for people of all ages.
