Former Cyprus President Recovering from Surgery

Former President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Glafcos Clerides underwent surgery on Monday, November 21, after being diagnosed with colon cancer.
“The post-operative condition of the president is satisfactory and all precautionary measures are being taken to prevent post-operative complications,” said the team of doctors overseeing the surgery, reported Focus Information Agency.
The 92-year-old former president was admitted to Evangelistria clinic in Nicosia on Saturday after tests revealed a malignant tumour.
Glafcos Clerides, is the founder of the Democratic Rally party and its Honorary President. He was elected President of the Republic 1993-1998 and 1998-2003.
