Russian Artworks to be Exhibited at Theocharakis Foundation in Athens

A unique exhibition of the Russian Avant-Garde, from the collection of the famous gallery Manege in St. Petersburg, is opening at Theocharakis Foundation of Athens on December 15th through the 11th of March 2012, organized under the auspices of the Russian Embassy in Athens.
From the banks of Neva river, from the northernmost major city in the world, 120 works of art of Grinberg, Lapshin,Zagoskin,Timoshenko and others come to Athens, carrying a powerful visual message.
The aim of this exhibition from the private collection of objects is to show the main stages of the Russian avant-garde , which has become a weighty chapter in the history of world art. It is mainly about the most important avant-garde directions – Futurism, Suprematism and Constructivism.
During the exhibition will be presented the artworks of the following artists:

    • Zagoskin
    • Timoshenko
    • Krimmer
    • Pakulin
    • Proshkin
    • Shuriga
    • Churilov
