Unpaid bills of exchange and bounced cheques amounted to €2.15 billion in November 2011, interbanking company Tiresias said on Thursday.
In November, 14,181 cheques were bounced amounting to €165.8 million, increased by 38.66%, compared with October 2011 and decreased by 5.28% year on year.
In the period January-November 2011, bounced cheques were 164,993 of total value €1.943 billion.
Additionally, 12,023 bills of exchange were unpaid in November, amounting to €21.72 million, increased by 20.55% m-o-m and 4.13% y-o-y, while in the 11-month period unpaid bills were 134,794 of total value €214.919 million.
