Cooperation Between CIPA and 'Invest in Greece'

The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) signed on 02/12/2011, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the corresponding Greek Agency “Invest in Greece”. The signing of the Memorandum took place during an event at the Hilton Hotel, which was organized by the Embassy of Greece in Nicosia on the subject “Investment opportunities in a changing Greece”.
The agreement was signed on behalf of CIPA, by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Christodoulos E. Angastiniotis, and Mr. Aristomenis Syngros, the Executive Chairman of “Invest in Greece”. During the ceremony, Mr. Angastiniotis reported of high level economic relations between Cyprus and Greece, and highlighted an existing strong collaboration between business partners of the two countries.
Mr. Angastiniotis further stated that with the signing of the agreement, both parties have paved an official way of building a frame of collaboration for the coming years. The Chairman also emphasized that relations between the two organizations are not competitive; he moreover underlined that a strong collaboration will be of mutual benefit.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organizations further included an “Action Plan” outlining the initiatives for the next three years, which forecast inter alia, the organization of investment issues in both countries, targeted events in the Priority Economic Growth Sectors, exchange of information and know-how, as well as international collaboration on issues of common interest.
